Group Warns Adeleke Against Backdoor APC Defection in Osun

Adeleke APC defection in Osun sparks caution from Osun Conscience Front, urging transparency and dialogue before joining the party through proper channels

The possible Adeleke APC defection in Osun has drawn sharp caution from the Osun Conscience Front, which advised Governor Ademola Adeleke to consult key APC leaders before making any move to join the party.

In a statement issued in Osogbo on Monday, the group warned against what it described as a “backdoor” defection, urging the governor to respect party structures and political etiquette.

“If Governor Adeleke wishes to join the APC, he should approach it with humility and transparency,” the group’s patron, Abiola Ogundokun, stated.

The group emphasized the importance of engaging figures like Gboyega Oyetola, Bisi Akande, and Iyiola Omisore, and cautioned that bypassing established processes could raise suspicion.

Referencing the late Senator Isiaka Adeleke, the governor’s brother, the group acknowledged the family’s past ties with the progressive camp but insisted that any return must be rooted in mutual respect.

“Those who seek to be part of the house must knock and be welcomed by its occupants,” the statement added.
