Peter Obi spoke to delegates at the party gathering in the Federal Capital Territory, where opposition leaders assembled to discuss national issues and political strategy ahead of future elections.
The former Anambra State governor argued that Nigeria’s security situation has significantly deteriorated under the current administration, warning that the trend could worsen if urgent corrective measures are not implemented.
Obi claimed that Nigeria’s global ranking on terrorism indices had fallen sharply, stating that the country had moved from a lower position to what he described as a more dangerous ranking.
He cautioned that continued decline could place Nigeria at even greater risk in the coming years.
He also expressed concern over rising poverty levels, stating that a significantly larger proportion of Nigerians are now living under severe economic hardship compared to previous years.
According to him, the combination of insecurity and economic distress is placing immense pressure on citizens across the country, calling for immediate and decisive policy action to reverse the situation.
