According to a statement from his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike arrived in Dubai on Monday and was received by Nigeria’s Consul General, Zayyanu Ibrahim, alongside senior officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration who had travelled ahead of him.

Wike is scheduled to lead a high-profile discussion panel on Tuesday, where he will field questions about the FCT’s urban development strategies and engage with mayors of other major world capitals.

The 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit (APCS), hosted by the Brisbane City Council, is recognised as one of the most inclusive gatherings of city leaders, policymakers, and business executives worldwide. The summit aims to deliver long-term value for cities and enterprises seeking trade, investment, and collaboration opportunities across the Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.

This year’s theme, “Collaborate, Inspire, Transform,” emphasises collective innovation for sustainable urban growth. Sub-themes such as “Centres of Connection” will explore the vital role of transportation and infrastructure in linking cities and improving quality of life.
