Adams defeated his challenger, Saheed Bankole, after polling 7,638 votes against 1,225, in a contest held across six wards in the constituency. Ward J was declared inconclusive by electoral officials.
The result, announced at Olomu Primary School in Ajah, effectively positions Adams for a return to the Lagos State House of Assembly in the 2027 general election, pending final party approval.
Officials of the All Progressives Congress confirmed Adams as the winner after completing the collation of results from all wards.
Speaking after the announcement, Adams described the outcome as a clear reflection of the will of party members and constituents.
“I feel great and honoured. It is the will of the people. It is democracy, and the people have spoken today,” he said.
He noted that his re-election bid had received widespread support from party leaders, local government chairmen and ward executives ahead of the primary.
“Prior to today, my leaders from the GAC, chairmen of local government councils, party heads and ward chairmen endorsed my re-election bid,” he added.
Adams also disclosed that efforts were made to encourage his opponent to step down before the primary, but the contest proceeded as scheduled.
“They asked my opponent to step down, but he insisted on the primary election,” he said. “Today, we have seen the result.”
The lawmaker provided a ward-by-ward breakdown of the results, insisting that the figures demonstrated strong grassroots backing across the constituency.
He commended party officials and security agencies for ensuring a peaceful and orderly process, expressing confidence that the outcome would be upheld by the party leadership.
