This occurred despite a valid court ruling that nullified her earlier suspension.
Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central, walked into the complex on foot and addressed journalists at the scene. “Akpabio cannot be greater than the Nigerian Constitution.
The Office of the Senate President doesn’t give me legitimacy as a senator. My legitimacy came from the people of Kogi who voted for me and INEC who declared me winner,” she stated.
She emphasised that the Senate’s appeal of the judgment does not override the initial court decision reinstating her.
“That I’ve been denied entrance is a statement being made. It’s on record that the National Assembly under Akpabio has decided to be in contempt of a court decision.
And it’s ironic—they are lawmakers. That poses a question: how far is our democracy?”

Calling her suspension fraudulent, she added that she would meet with her legal team to seek interpretation and enforcement from the appellate court. “I’m a law-abiding citizen,” she concluded.
