Kwara Woro Committee: Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq appoints a seven-member team to support and rebuild the Woro community after recent attacks
Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved the appointment of a seven-member committee to liaise with the Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area, following the deadly attack that claimed numerous lives, The PUNCH reports on Friday, February 6, 2026.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued in Ilorin by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye.
The committee will serve as a direct link between the state government and the affected community to ensure coordinated humanitarian support.
The panel is chaired by Hon. Ahmed Kiwozi, a former lawmaker from Kaiama Local Government Area.
Other members include the Vice Chairman of the Local Government Council, Mrs. Aisha Abubakar Sadiq, Alhaji Abubakar Mora, Woro Village Head Alhaji Umar Bio Saliu, a representative from the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), a delegate from the Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP), and a female representative from the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.
The committee has been mandated to complete its assignment within four weeks, engaging with community leaders on rebuilding efforts, assessing the needs of survivors, and addressing outstanding issues arising from the attack.
“The setting up of the committee underscores the commitment of the Kwara State Government to supporting affected communities and ensuring a coordinated humanitarian response,” the statement added.

Governor AbdulRazaq’s initiative follows widespread national and international attention on the Kwara massacre, emphasising the state government’s resolve to provide effective aid and rebuild essential infrastructure in Woro.
