The visit was part of a sympathy tour for victims of a recent fire outbreak at the market. Hundreds of youths gathered along Bello Road and adjacent streets as Kwankwaso’s motorcade arrived, chanting slogans and cheering in support of the former governor.
Witnesses reported supporters shouting “Kano sai Kwankwaso” as they surged toward his convoy to catch a glimpse of him.
Kwankwaso stepped out to greet the crowd, waving and flashing the victory sign in response to the cheers.
The turnout temporarily disrupted commercial activities in Kano Central, slowing traffic along major roads as crowds blocked portions of the streets during the visit.
Dressed in his signature white traditional attire and red cap, Kwankwaso interacted with traders and sympathizers at the market, many of whom praised his visit as a meaningful gesture of solidarity with fire victims.
