Kwankwaso made the statement during an interview with BBC Hausa, describing the governor’s decision to leave NNPP for the ruling party as an act of political betrayal.
According to the former governor of Kano, the election was effectively lost the moment former APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje endorsed Governor Yusuf.
Kwankwaso declared that the governor would regret abandoning the party that supported his rise, stating, “We never expected this kind of betrayal from Governor Abba. He will regret his decision. The moment Ganduje raises his hand, he has already lost the election. Let him first say we didn’t allow him to govern, we will give him an answer.”
