Ned Nwoko APC primary dispute escalated after the lawmaker made the claim during an appearance on Arise News, where he challenged the official outcome that declared former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as the winner of the primary election.
Nwoko maintained that the election was conducted across 98 wards in Delta North and insisted he possesses video evidence from each ward showing that he emerged victorious in the process.
He explained that midway through the exercise, participants were informed that results would not be announced at ward level, with assurances that the final outcome would be declared at the national level in line with due process.
According to him, the situation changed unexpectedly when results from a single ward allegedly linked to the former governor were used as the basis for announcing the overall winner of the primary election.
The primary APC dispute further intensified as he accused the Delta State Governor of colluding with Senator Ifeanyi Okowa to influence the outcome of the exercise.
Nwoko insisted that the process was compromised and stated his intention to present his evidence to the party leadership to challenge the declared result.
