Kogi APC stakeholders endorse President Tinubu for 2027, pledging unity and mobilising bloc votes across 21 LGAs for his re-election
Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, operating under the Kogi Progressive Stakeholders Forum (KPSF), have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term, pledging to double the state’s votes for his re-election in the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement followed a high-level meeting on Wednesday at the Reverton Hotel in Lokoja, attended by party leaders, lawmakers, elders, and other key figures, who resolved to align fully with the ruling party at the centre.
Chairman of the forum and former Kogi Governor Captain Idris Wada said KPSF was established to unite and mobilise grassroots supporters of the APC in support of Tinubu’s re-election bid.
He emphasised the need for peace, unity, and internal cohesion, noting that only a united APC could effectively advance the president’s reform agenda.
“Inclusiveness is a core principle of the forum. All members, regardless of status or political leaning, must be carried along to strengthen the party and deepen democratic participation,” Wada said.
Vice Chairman Alhaji Suleiman Baba Ali expressed confidence that the president would secure overwhelming support from Kogi voters, citing ongoing reforms as key to repositioning Nigeria for sustainable growth and development.
Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, representing Kogi West, described the endorsement and growing alignment of the state with the APC as a positive development.
He noted that Tinubu deserved a second term to complete economic and security reforms, including improvements in foreign exchange stability, infrastructure, access to student loans, and national security.
Acknowledging grievances among some party members, Karimi assured that concerns would be addressed.
“We know there are many people in this state that are not happy… We want Mr. President to win and win well,” he said.
Dr. Kashim Akor, former Director General of the National Productivity Centre, highlighted the forum’s role in providing a channel for aggrieved party members to voice concerns, calling for reconciliation and sacrifice.
A former local government chairman and lawmaker, Hon. Ganiyu Salawudeen, urged the APC reconciliation committee to visit Kogi to address perceptions of lopsided political appointments and leadership.
The meeting concluded with the issuance of a communiqué in which stakeholders unanimously pledged unwavering support for President Tinubu as the APC’s sole presidential candidate for 2027.
They rejected divisive politics and called for unity, voter mobilisation, and strategic engagement across all 21 local government areas of Kogi State.
The endorsement motion was formally moved by Senator Sunday Steve Karimi and seconded by Dr. Kashim Akor.
Other prominent attendees included Retired AIG Abutu Yaro and former House of Representatives member Hon. Haruna Isah, alongside party elders and stakeholders from across the state.
