Ganduje said all APC aspirants in the state have agreed to support Yusuf’s second-term bid.

Ganduje made the declaration on Monday while welcoming Yusuf back into the party, describing his return as a historic boost for APC in Kano.

Yusuf officially resigned from the New Nigeria Peoples Party on 23 January 2026, citing internal crises and the need to safeguard public interests, before rejoining APC on Monday.

“When the party was formed, you were with us, but later political differences and misconceptions led you away. Now you are back,” Ganduje said, praising Yusuf as a progressive leader whose style aligns with APC ideology.

He further confirmed that, according to party tradition, Yusuf automatically assumes the role of APC leader in Kano State, adding, “In APC, all serving governors are leaders of the party in their respective states.

Therefore, you are the leader of the APC in Kano State.”

Ganduje also assured Yusuf of equitable treatment within the party and expressed confidence in sweeping electoral victories.

“As you are coming in, we assure you that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will also win the 2027 election. APC will stand solidly with you,” he added.
