Jigawa APC mass defection Namadi as Governor Umar Namadi welcomes about 4,000 new members into APC in Taura LGA

The statement came during a grand reception held in Taura, where the governor also commissioned a new APC secretariat and formally welcomed the new entrants into the party.

The defectors were led by former state party chairman and four-time House of Representatives member, Hon. Safiyanu Ubale Taura, alongside other prominent figures previously aligned with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

Governor Namadi described the development as a strong indication of APC’s growing acceptance across Jigawa State, noting that many of the new members were influential grassroots mobilisers in Taura and Ringim Local Government Areas.

He stated that the influx of members further demonstrated the party’s expanding political base across all 27 local government areas of the state, stressing that APC continues to gain momentum while maintaining stability.

The governor assured the new members of fairness and inclusion, pledging to lead with integrity and ensure equal treatment within the party structure.

APC State Chairman, Hon. Ahmed Garba M.K., also attributed the wave of defections to the governor’s leadership style and ongoing development projects across the state.
