Speaking during an assessment of the governor’s two years in office, respected state surveyor Tusse Suleiman commended Dr. Agbu Kefas for halting what he described as a long-standing pattern of project abandonment in the state.

“For decades, one of Nigeria’s greatest developmental setbacks has been the abandonment of projects whenever political leadership changes hands,” Suleiman noted.

“This culture of waste has robbed the people of value for money and denied communities the benefits of completed infrastructure. Governor Kefas has chosen a different path.”

According to Suleiman, Governor Kefas ends culture of waste in Taraba by not only continuing inherited projects but also completing and revitalising them to meet public needs.

Among the major projects he cited are the remodelled Danbaba Suntai Airport, the Jalingo dual carriageway, the Taraba Commodity Exchange Market, and the newly revamped abattoir.

Beyond infrastructure, the governor’s achievements in education, healthcare, and civil service reform have also drawn praise.

Suleiman highlighted the development of Taraba’s first state master plan since its creation in 1991 as a landmark initiative.

He emphasised that the governor’s approach demonstrates visionary and people-centred leadership, choosing impact over personal accolades.

“By placing the people’s interest above political gain or personal credit, he is demonstrating that governance can be both visionary and responsible,” Suleiman said.

While acknowledging that critics may seek to downplay these developments, Suleiman insisted that the tangible improvements across the state speak for themselves.

“Taraba is now emerging as a trailblazer in several areas of governance and development,” he concluded.
