ZLP chairman Nwanyanwu urges INEC to count all votes, properly test IREV ahead of Feb 21 FCT elections
The National Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Dan Nwanyanwu, has emphasized that all votes must be counted in the upcoming February 21 Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections.

Speaking on Arise Television’s ‘Prime Time’, Nwanyanwu highlighted the rising tension in Abuja ahead of the polls, noting that political alliances are shifting as some candidates are being persuaded to step down in favor of others.
He further warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to test the INEC Results Viewing (IREV) system to ensure the election’s credibility.
“In FCT, residents have a pattern when they are voting. They are not persuaded by noise or arrogance,” Nwanyanwu said.
“This is local politics. When somebody arrogantly boasts that he’s god, he’s all, it’s not just right. Watch and see the outcome of the Saturday election.”
The ZLP chairman’s statement comes amid a politically charged environment, with major parties jockeying for influence in various area councils across Abuja, including Abaji, AMAC, Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje, and Kwali.
Nwanyanwu underscored that while voters may not support the president’s party in this local election, they could back it in national contests, emphasizing the independence of local voting patterns.
