Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose, announced himself as the new National Chairman, claiming control over party affairs.

He also suspended prominent PDP figures including Atiku Abubakar, Nyesom Wike, Seyi Makinde, Ayo Fayose and others of the so‑called “G5” faction, citing anti‑party behaviour.

Isaac Fayose instructed the security at Wadata House, the PDP secretariat, to hold onto the keys and declared acting National Chairman Damagum suspended.

He said anyone unhappy with these decisions could challenge them in court.

His declaration comes as the party is already facing internal disputes between rival factions.

However, the Abuja Federal High Court has restrained the National Executive Committee and the party’s Board of Trustees from recognising any person other than Damagum as PDP chairman until the national convention, scheduled for December.
