Addressing PDP supporters and party faithful, the candidate said Ebonyi belonged to its people and questioned why the affairs of millions of residents should be determined by a small group.

The candidate said the campaign would be strictly issues-based and urged supporters to reject violence, intimidation and political hostility as campaigning gathers momentum.

“As the embargo has been lifted for all campaign activities and we step into the field, let me remind us that our campaign will be strictly issues-based,” the candidate said.

The PDP candidate also warned against political violence, arguing that no political ambition justified the loss of human life.

“No leadership ambition is worth the life or blood of any citizen,” the candidate said, calling for peaceful participation throughout the electoral process.

A major part of the candidate’s message centred on the economic challenges facing Ebonyi, particularly the need to create productive opportunities for young people.

Ebonyi PDP candidate criticised what was described as the use of poverty and hunger to push young people towards political thuggery and electoral malpractice.

“Under our administration, every young person will be treated with dignity, respect, and the support needed to build a sustainable future they can be proud of,” the candidate said.

The proposed economic programme places agriculture among the key sectors for development, with emphasis on productivity, investment and value addition.

Education and healthcare also feature prominently in the candidate’s policy agenda, alongside efforts to improve infrastructure and attract private-sector investment.

The candidate said the proposed administration would seek to transform Ebonyi into an industrialised and investment-ready economy capable of creating opportunities across different communities.

The blueprint, titled A Promise of Possibility, proposes improvements in education, healthcare, productive agriculture, enterprise development, infrastructure and social welfare.

The candidate also called for greater political inclusion, saying the people should have a stronger role in determining the direction of the state.

The campaign comes as political activities intensify ahead of the 6 February 2027 governorship election, with parties beginning to present their policy platforms and mobilise supporters across Ebonyi.

The PDP candidate’s campaign is consequently placing economic development, youth empowerment and social investment at the centre of its message, while promising a peaceful and issues-driven contest.
