APC Lagos delegates caused major airport disruptions Friday as they travelled to Abuja ahead of the National Convention at Eagles Square
The Lagos wing of Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, experienced major disruptions on Friday as members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Lagos departed for Abuja ahead of the party’s National Convention.

The convention, scheduled for Friday, March 27, and Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Eagles Square, Abuja, is expected to host over 8,000 delegates, including President Bola Tinubu and members of his cabinet.
APC members from Lagos were seen arriving at the airport in coordinated Ankara attire from as early as 6:00 am, creating a vibrant and busy atmosphere across terminals.
Prominent figures in the delegation include former Senate Minority Whip and Governance Advisory Council (GAC) member, Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon, former Deputy Governor of Lagos State and GAC member, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, among several other senior party leaders.

Observers noted the sheer scale of the Lagos delegation as a demonstration of the state chapter’s organisational strength and support ahead of the convention, which will determine key party leadership decisions for the upcoming political cycle.
