Anambra at 34: Governor Soludo pays tribute to past leaders, hails state’s progress, and calls for unity to build a prosperous and thriving homeland
Anambra at 34 was marked with reflections and renewed optimism as Governor Chukwuma Soludo paid glowing tribute to the state’s founding fathers and past leaders on Wednesday.

In a heartfelt message posted on his official Facebook page, Governor Soludo described Anambra as a “divine project” and a symbol of Nigeria’s enduring promise despite being one of the smallest states by landmass.
“Today, we celebrate not just in commemoration, but in reflective rededication,” Soludo stated. “From our first Military Administrator, Navy Capt.
Joseph Abulu, to my immediate predecessor, Chief Willie Obiano, Anambra has continued on a trajectory of remarkable growth.”
The governor praised the legacy of leadership and vision that has shaped the state over the past 34 years highlighting achievements in commerce, education, industry, and cultural excellence.
He noted that Anambra has consistently “punched above its weight” producing some of the brightest minds, innovators, and entrepreneurs that have impacted Nigeria and beyond.
“From our bustling commercial hubs to our academic institutions, from innovative industries to our rich cultural heritage, Anambra has remained on the rise,” Soludo affirmed.
Calling on Ndi Anambra to unite behind the vision of a prosperous future, the governor emphasized the need for shared purpose, collaboration, and faith.
“With faith in God and confidence in our ability, we can build the prosperous homeland of our dreams,” he said.
