Amuzu Urges Credible Leadership Ahead of 2027 Elections Positive

Amuzu credible leadership 2027 elections call as PDP aspirant urges Nigerians to elect competent leaders ahead of 2027 polls

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and aspirant for Abeokuta South Federal Constituency, Amuzu, has urged Nigerians to take greater responsibility in shaping the country’s future by electing credible leaders in the 2027 general elections.

Amuzu made the call during an engagement with residents of Abeokuta South Federal Constituency, where he stressed that democracy would only deliver meaningful results if citizens make informed and responsible voting decisions.

The aspirant expressed concern over Nigeria’s slow pace of development compared to other nations, noting that his experiences abroad exposed him to more efficient governance systems and stronger institutions.

He said the contrast left him deeply reflective, adding that Nigeria risks falling behind unless citizens become more deliberate in choosing leaders with competence and integrity.

Amuzu emphasised that sustainable national development depends on visionary leadership supported by accountable governance structures, urging citizens to actively participate in strengthening the democratic process.

He warned against voting based on sentiment, religion, or financial inducement, describing such practices as damaging to national progress.

“As we approach 2027, we must shun the politics of rice and money. I am here to serve, not to make empty promises. Together, we can make a difference,” he said.

The PDP aspirant also lamented what he described as a recurring trend where underperforming leaders continue to emerge due to poor electoral choices, despite widespread dissatisfaction.

He further highlighted persistent infrastructural challenges, including poor electricity supply, lack of potable water, and bad road networks, describing them as basic governance responsibilities that should not be politicised.
