Akwa Ibom Governor Eno directs appointees and stakeholders to prioritise grassroots empowerment for equitable development and improved community welfare
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has directed all appointees, contractors, and stakeholders to prioritise grassroots empowerment to foster a more equitable and prosperous society.

The directive was issued during a special Sunday Service at the All Nations Christian Ministry International in Eket.
Governor Eno said the need to reach out to people at the grassroots level motivated the recent statewide Ward meetings of the All Progressives Congress.
He commended local government chairmen and other stakeholders for their effective coordination of the meetings, which he described as yielding productive outcomes.
“If this administration is benefiting you in one way or the other, make sure you share this benevolence with people in your villages so they can also feel the impact of this government,” the governor said.
He added that the grassroots meetings will be repeated in December to consolidate stronger party membership, loyalty, and to sustain citizens’ sense of belonging and confidence in governance.
Highlighting his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development, Governor Eno assured residents that failed road portions across the state have been studied and recorded for prompt remedial action once the rainy season ends.
“All the poor roads within the areas will be adequately restored,” he stated.
The governor also revealed plans to install solar-powered street lights in Uyo Metropolis and surrounding areas to enhance security and elevate the city’s status as a tourist destination.
