Ajadi Gets Strong PDP Support in Oyo Solidarity Walk

PDP members in Egbeda hold solidarity walk for Ajadi’s Oyo governorship bid, backing his ambition ahead of PDP primaries

Members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Egbeda Local Government Area of Oyo State on Tuesday, 2026, staged a solidarity walk across key communities in support of the governorship aspiration of Amb.

Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, in a show of grassroots mobilisation ahead of the party primaries.

The peaceful political procession, which drew party leaders, youths, traders, and supporters, began at Osengere in Ward 8, Ajadi’s political base, before moving through Gbagi Market, Iwo Road, Monatan, Olodo, and Erunmu, where residents lined the streets to receive the entourage.

The Ajadi PDP Solidarity Walk Oyo event highlighted growing political momentum around his ambition, as supporters described him as a loyal party member with strong grassroots appeal and increasing acceptance within the local structure of the PDP.

Speaking during the rally, Ajadi expressed appreciation to party faithful and residents for their support, describing the turnout as a clear demonstration of unity and trust within the Egbeda PDP family.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the party, stating that his ambition is anchored on continuity and consolidation of the developmental strides of Governor Seyi Makinde in Oyo State.

“Our goal is to build on the good governance already established by His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde,” Ajadi said, adding that his focus would be on expanding opportunities for youths and strengthening the local economy.

At Gbagi International Market, Ajadi addressed traders and artisans, assuring them of inclusive governance and targeted support for small businesses if elected governor.

The rally attracted notable political figures, including Egbeda Local Government Chairman and Oyo State ALGON Chairman Hon. Sikiru Oyedele Sanda, Ajorosun LCDA Administrator Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo, and PDP leaders from across the council area.

Hon. Sanda described Ajadi as a committed party man whose growing acceptance reflects strong grassroots support, noting that political leaders often consider candidates with visible public backing.

PDP Chairman in Egbeda, Chief Alawe Olawale Ebenezer, also reaffirmed Ajadi’s loyalty to the party, describing him as a consistent figure within Ward 8 with rising political influence.

The event also featured musical performances from entertainers, adding colour to the rally and drawing youthful engagement into the political gathering.

The solidarity walk ended with renewed calls from supporters urging PDP leadership to consider Ajadi’s growing popularity as the party prepares for its governorship primaries.
