ADC says it has moved on from the exit of Peter Obi and Kwankwaso, describing their departure as a political glitch
The African Democratic Congress, African Democratic Congress has said it has moved past the departure of former presidential candidates Peter Obi and Rabi’u Kwankwaso, describing their exit from the party as a political “glitch.”

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, made the statement on Wednesday during an interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show.
He said the party had stabilised and was now focused on strengthening its broader political objectives despite the high-profile defections.
DAILY POST reports that Peter Obi and Rabi’u Kwankwaso recently left the ADC for the Nigerian Democratic Congress, citing internal disputes and legal challenges within the party.
Reacting to their exit, Abdullahi insisted that the movement of both politicians did not weaken the party’s long-term vision.
“Peter Obi and Kwankwaso moving from the ADC was a glitch. We have moved on from it,” he said.
He added that the party remains committed to its core objective of addressing governance challenges and strengthening Nigeria’s multi-party democratic system.
According to him, while some members have left and others remain, the party’s coalition agenda is still active within the current political landscape.

The spokesman further stressed that the ADC is focused on rebuilding and sustaining its relevance ahead of future political realignments.
