Senator Barau condemns the Barau Kano bandit attack in Tsanyawa, urging tougher security measures after one woman was killed and three kidnapped
Deputy President of the Senate Senator Barau I. Jibrin on Sunday in Abuja condemned a fresh Barau Kano bandit attack that claimed the life of a woman and led to the abduction of three others in Yankamaye village, Tsanyawa Local Government Area.

Community sources said the incident occurred at about 11 p.m. on Saturday when residents had already retired for the night.
Eyewitnesses told Arewa PUNCH that the assailants arrived on motorcycles before leaving the riders at the outskirts of the village and proceeding on foot to evade detection.
The gunmen reportedly shot an elderly woman after she pleaded with them to spare her son. They then abducted the young man along with two women, including a sister-in-law of the ward councillor.
Yankamaye, situated roughly five kilometres from Rimaye in Katsina State, has experienced repeated attacks in recent months, particularly after neighbouring Katsina communities entered a peace accord with bandit groups.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau described the latest assault as distressing and urged security agencies to intensify operations against the criminals he said had infiltrated Kano from adjoining states.
He noted that the attack came only days after a similar raid on Biresawa, also in Tsanyawa.
The Senator urged security operatives to rescue the abducted victims and confront the perpetrators directly, calling for a more aggressive posture against the networks responsible.
Senator Barau warned that criminals fleeing military pressure in nearby states must not be allowed to destabilise communities in Kano.
He stressed that protecting lives and property remained paramount and assured constituents that no stone would be left unturned in restoring security.
The Senator has previously provided operational support to security agencies in his constituency through the provision of vehicles, motorcycles and renovations of police and DSS facilities.
