Aregbesola criticises APC, vows ADC victory in 2027

Rauf Aregbesola criticises APC’s governance, pledges ADC victory in 2027, citing failures in economy, security, and leadership.

Rauf Aregbesola, National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, in Osogbo, Osun State on 26 November 2025, criticised the Federal Government led by the All Progressives Congress, accusing it of underperformance in the economy, security and other key sectors.

Speaking during the unveiling of the ADC in the state capital, the former Osun State governor predicted the end of APC’s reign in the next general election.

Addressing a large crowd of supporters, Rauf Aregbesola urged Nigerians to reject the ruling party in 2027.

Speaking in Yoruba, he said, “Those in government now tried their best, but God is not with them because they didn’t start with God. They are selfish. They started with the word ’emi’ instead of ’awa’. They have been disgraceful in all sectors, in the economy, security, governance, and others.”

Earlier, Rauf Aregbesola led ADC leaders on a courtesy visit to the palace of the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji, reinforcing the party’s presence and engagement across the state.

He also participated in a revalidation exercise at Ward 8, Ifofin, Ilesa East, Osun State, highlighting the ADC’s discipline and integrity as his reasons for joining the party.

Oluwaseun Abosede, Chairman of ADC Directorate of Media and Publicity in Osun State, said residents turned out in large numbers during the Federal Constituency Tour, demonstrating growing support for the party.

Reacting, Kola Olabisi, Osun APC Director of Media, defended the ruling party, noting that Aregbesola benefited from APC during his tenure as governor and minister.

“He was governor for eight years and minister for four years through the benevolence of this same party. He is attacking himself,” Olabisi said.
