President Bola Tinubu celebrates NSA Nuhu Ribadu’s 65th birthday, lauding his integrity, EFCC leadership, and service to national security
President Bola Tinubu has congratulated National Security Adviser Malam Nuhu Ribadu on his 65th birthday, describing him as a “principled reformer and accomplished security professional.”

The statement was issued on Friday in Abuja by Presidential Spokesperson Mr. Bayo Onanuga.
Tinubu lauded Ribadu’s integrity and steadfast service to Nigeria, recalling his pioneering leadership at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), where he strengthened accountability and led high-profile investigations into corruption and economic crimes.
The president said, “Since we struck a close relationship over 15 years ago, I have come to acknowledge and appreciate Nuhu’s honesty, forthrightness, and camaraderie. As a prominent member of our Renewed Hope Agenda team, I have found Nuhu to be a patriotic, loyal, and candid individual.
As Nuhu turns 65 today, I fervently pray that Almighty Allah will grant him good health and greater wisdom to continue serving our beloved country.”
Born in Yola, Adamawa State, on 21 November 1960, Ribadu was appointed NSA by Tinubu on 19 June 2023.
He previously served as the pioneer head of the EFCC from 2003 to 2007, overseeing several notable prosecutions of corrupt officials and financial criminals.
Ribadu has received numerous accolades for his work, including Inspector General of Police Awards in 1997, 1998, and 2000, as well as the Special Commendation of the President in 2005 for successfully prosecuting advance fee fraud, banking fraud, and other economic crimes.

His career spans distinguished service as a police officer, prosecutor, and chairman of the EFCC.
