Taking to his official X handle on Tuesday, Sanwo-Olu described Obasa’s service as exemplary:
“Rt. Hon. Obasa has shown true dedication to public service over the years, serving the people of Agege Constituency I with passion and leading the House of Assembly with wisdom. His commitment to the progress of Lagos and the success of our administration has been remarkable.”
The governor extended his wishes on behalf of his family and the people of Lagos State:
“On behalf of my wife, Ibijoke, and the good people of Lagos State, I wish him more fruitful years in good health and continued grace to serve our state and nation.”
The birthday message arrives amid years of speculation over a perceived power tussle between Obasa and Governor Sanwo-Olu. In 2024, Obasa dismissed claims of friction, describing their relationship as akin to siblings and insisting he had “no issues against the state governor.”
