John Chuma Nwosu Slams Soludo’s ‘Failed Governance’

John Chuma Nwosu criticises Soludo’s leadership, pledging to restore security, transparency and inclusive governance in Anambra if elected

John Chuma Nwosu, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Anambra State, has sharply criticised Governor Charles Soludo’s administration, describing it as a failed experiment in leadership and governance.

In a candid interview ahead of the November 8 election, John Chuma Nwosu said the people of Anambra are disillusioned by rising insecurity, aggressive taxation, and what he termed “cosmetic governance” that neglects core development.

According to Nwosu, Anambra has fallen behind its peers in the South East, with residents across 177 communities expressing frustration over collapsing infrastructure, unresponsive governance and high-handedness by government agents.

“Anambra is in decay. Insecurity is rife. Tax collection now involves batons instead of technology. It’s governance gone rogue,” Nwosu lamented.

Positioning himself as the credible alternative, John Chuma Nwosu is anchoring his campaign on a bold development framework called SHEEEMS, which stands for Security, Health, Education, Economy, Environment, Markets and Social Welfare.

He said the model guarantees balanced, grassroots-focused development in every local council.

He also pledged to serve only one term if elected, insisting that he is not driven by political longevity but a desire to lay down a foundation for effective governance and sustainable progress.

“This one-term commitment frees me to focus on results, not re-election. Every kobo spent will be accounted for, every policy transparent,” he stated.

Nwosu believes that Anambra North, long considered a political kingmaker in the state, will rally behind the ADC, especially in marginalised areas like Aguleri Otu and Ogwu Ikpele which, he noted, still lack roads despite being oil-producing communities.

On potential vote-splitting between ADC and Labour Party, he dismissed the idea as speculative, saying the ADC remains the only stable, nationally aligned coalition with a clear vision.

While refusing to speculate on the influence of former governor Peter Obi in the race, John Chuma Nwosu acknowledged Obi’s past links to ADC but emphasised that the campaign is focused on offering Anambra people a fresh, accountable leadership.

“Our goal is simple: secure Anambra again, restore trust, and empower communities.”

With confidence growing across party lines and regions, John Chuma Nwosu says the ADC is ready to deliver on day one, if given the mandate.
