Bello Besse appointed District Head of Dutsin-Mari by Kebbi Governor Idris, following the death of Alhaji Mualliyadi, to uphold tradition and peace
The appointment, approved by Governor Nasir Idris, was announced Wednesday by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Garba Dutsin-Mari, in a statement to journalists in Birnin Kebbi.

“The appointment is in recognition of the need to ensure continuity in leadership and to further strengthen our traditional institutions,” the commissioner said.
He congratulated Alhaji Bello Marafa Besse, urging him to uphold the sacred trust of leadership and commit himself to peace, unity, and the development of his community.
“Leadership is a sacred trust, and we are confident he will deliver,” he added.

The commissioner commended Governor Idris for his swift approval, describing the decision as a reflection of his respect for tradition and a commitment to grassroots development.
In his first remarks after being notified of his appointment, Bello Besse expressed deep gratitude to the governor and pledged to serve with humility, integrity, and dedication.
“I consider this appointment a call to service. I will work closely with my people to preserve our heritage, foster peace, and support government efforts towards development,” Besse said.

The late Alhaji Muhammad Mualliyadi was widely admired for his role in promoting harmony and development in the region.
His leadership left a lasting legacy, and his passing marked the end of an era for the Dutsin-Mari district.
