Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, who represents Abia North and chairs the Senate Committee on the South-East Development Commission (SEDC), expressed satisfaction with the progress made on the vital road infrastructure.

In a statement released on Friday, he highlighted the road’s potential to transform commerce, agriculture, and community interaction across the region.

“This project is part of our commitment to improving rural infrastructure, easing transportation, and opening up more opportunities for trade, agriculture, and social development in Abia North,” Kalu said.

Kalu, a former governor of Abia State and ex-Chief Whip of the Senate, emphasized his dedication to seeing the project through, promising collaboration with federal agencies to ensure timely delivery.

Since his election to the Senate in 2019, Kalu has facilitated a wide range of infrastructure projects—from rural roads and schools to health centres and clean water supply.

Notable interventions include the Lokpaukwu–Lokpanta Road in Umunneochi, township roads in Ebem Ohafia, and various link roads in Isuikwuato designed to improve access between farming communities and urban markets.

His office has also prioritized education, renovating classrooms, supplying materials and building new blocks across Abia North.
