The APC candidate garnered 450 votes in her unit, while the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) secured just one vote each.

Her father, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, the Esama of Benin Kingdom, braved heavy rainfall to cast his vote at Unit 7 polling station in Okada, showing strong family support.

Edo Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa, who vacated the seat to run as Governor Monday Okpebholo’s running mate, voted at Unit 3, Old Education Board, Iguobazuwa West Ward, Ovia South West Local Government Area. After voting, Idahosa commended the electoral process.

“So far, everything is going well. We are expecting free, fair and credible elections. Ovia people will be happy with the outcome.

The turnout is impressive. More voters should come out and vote and shun violence,” he said.

Earlier, Governor Monday Okpebholo expressed frustration with the slow performance of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) at his Ward 2, Unit 1, Udomi Primary School in Esan Central Local Government Area.

“Well, I just voted. You can see the frustration. The BVAS is just too slow. It takes too long before you can get accredited.
