Tinubu administration criticism deepens as ADC’s Adamu Waziri calls it a “disastrous catastrophe,” citing insecurity, economic collapse, and division
Tinubu administration criticism has reached a new high as a prominent chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Adamu Maina Waziri, harshly condemned the current federal government, describing it as a “disastrous catastrophe.”

In an interview aired on Trust Television, Waziri expressed alarm over Nigeria’s deteriorating governance, economy, and security landscape under President Bola Tinubu.
“If the Buhari government was a failure, the Tinubu government in the last two years is a disastrous catastrophe,” Waziri said. “It has failed in all ramifications, and the country has regressed.”
He pointed to Nigeria’s worsening economic hardship, insecurity, and rising ethnocentrism as evidence that the administration has lost direction.
Waziri’s Tinubu administration criticism also highlighted the perceived disconnect between the government’s public image and on-the-ground realities.
“I am surprised that people whose local governments are under the control of bandits can appear on national television to endorse this government,” he noted.
He warned that blind endorsements and staged appearances should not distract from what he described as the decline of national unity and functionality.
According to Waziri, Nigeria is now more fragile, divided, and insecure than it was before Tinubu took office.
Waziri, a senior figure in the ADC and a former cabinet member, called for a sober national assessment of the administration’s performance and insisted that the government’s record does not justify any move toward reelection.
“A government that has presided over national decline in every sector cannot credibly seek reelection,” he asserted.
His remarks echo growing public frustration amid rising inflation, continued insecurity, and a cost-of-living crisis affecting millions of Nigerians.
