APC’s Lagos Protest Escalates as Members Demand Ojelabi’s Sack Over Poor Leadership

APC’s Lagos Protest erupts at State Assembly as members from 57 LCDAs demand the removal of state chairman Cornelius Ojelabi, citing failed leadership

APC’s Lagos Protest erupted on Monday as disgruntled members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) gathered at the Lagos State House of Assembly in Alausa, Ikeja, calling for the immediate removal of the party’s state chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi.

Protesters, said to represent all 57 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State, held placards with bold inscriptions, chanting and demanding urgent restructuring of the party’s leadership ahead of anticipated political developments in the state.

According to protest leaders, Ojelabi’s leadership has failed to inspire confidence, and they believe new leadership is needed to reposition the party before the 2027 election cycle.

A heavy police presence was observed at the protest site to ensure order and prevent any escalation.

“This is about saving the soul of our party,” one protester said. “We need a leader who listens and leads from the front.”
