Nyesom Wike slams opposition coalition as unpatriotic naysayers aiming to discredit Tinubu’s reforms, urging Nigerians to reject their failed narratives
Nyesom Wike Slams Opposition Coalition in a powerful speech, branding them as unpatriotic naysayers whose only mission is to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027 without offering real solutions.

Speaking at the University of Port Harcourt’s 35th Combined Convocation, Wike, who was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Political Science, warned Nigerians to be wary of political figures gathering under the African Democratic Congress platform.
“These are the same people who held office for decades and have nothing to show for it,” Wike said, calling out their history of failed leadership and divisive rhetoric.
He praised Tinubu’s tough but necessary economic reforms, noting signs of progress including reduced fuel prices and the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, which he called a transformational initiative.
Wike urged citizens to support Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and resist propaganda. “We must reject those who peddle lies and division,” he added.

Wike also reaffirmed his loyalty to the University of Port Harcourt, attributing his continued support to his gratitude as an alumnus.
