Primate Elijah Ayodele says Vice-President Kashim Shettima could take over from President Bola Tinubu before 2031 if a second term is won
Primate Elijah Ayodele, founder of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, said in a video released on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, that President Bola Tinubu may not complete a second term if he wins the 2027 election, and that Vice-President Kashim Shettima could take over before 2031.

Primate Elijah Ayodele framed the remark as a warning from what he called divine revelation, not a curse.
He said the president’s health would need prayers if the current term is to be finished and another four years won.
He pointed to the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, who died in office in 2010 after a long illness, as a possible precedent.
“If Tinubu wins the second time, he will not finish it. I stand by my word, he will not finish it,” he said. “What happened to Yar’Adua or whatever that will make him not to finish it will lead to an emergency government, making Shettima take over from him, might happen. Tinubu will not finish his second term, thus says the Lord of hosts.”
He also alleged that people around President Bola Tinubu keep dissenting views away from him. No government response was included in the Daily Post report.
The statement is a cleric’s prediction. It is not an official medical bulletin and not a constitutional process already under way.
