The NDC says attacks will not stop its 2027 elections plan after alleging a raid on a peaceful meeting in Obuoffia Ward, Nkanu West, Enugu
The Nigeria Democratic Congress says no one can lock it out of the 2027 general election, after what it called repeated attacks on members, including an alleged assault at a grassroots meeting in Obuoffia Ward, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.

National Publicity Secretary Osa Director issued the statement late on Sunday 13 September 2026.
The party called the Enugu incident unprovoked and said intimidation would not halt its work.
“No one can prevent the NDC from exercising its right to democratic participation in the 2027 general elections,” the statement said.
It also alleged similar attacks elsewhere in the South-East, including Imo State, and said security agencies had failed to answer those reports with force.
It accused the All Progressives Congress in Enugu of being rattled by NDC growth.
It offered no public evidence for that charge. The APC had not replied in the account published with the statement.
“If the goal of those sponsoring these attacks is to instill fear in the hearts of the people, they have failed woefully. This cowardly act will only strengthen our resolve to canvass and mobilise for the party and its candidates,” Osa Director’s statement added.
The party asked the police and allied services to investigate the Enugu meeting, and to pursue both the alleged attackers and anyone said to have paid them.

Until an independent account is issued, the file stands as a partisan cry: the NDC 2027 elections plan will go on, it says, whether the streets stay quiet or not.
