Davido criticises Oyetola over alleged political plan, calling the minister’s actions “embarrassing” amid Osun election tension
Nigerian singer Davido has publicly criticised the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, over what he described as an alleged political plan he claims is “very embarrassing”.

Davido made the remarks in the early hours of Tuesday via his X account, where he directly tagged the former Osun State governor and accused him of political desperation.
Davido slams Oyetola comments saw the singer describe the minister as “the most desperate politician in the world,” adding that the alleged plan would not succeed.
“The most desperate politician in the world is @GboyegaOyetola very embarrassing. Oyetola your plan no go work,” he wrote.
Although Davido did not provide details of the alleged plan, the post comes amid growing political tension in Osun State ahead of the governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026.
The development also follows Davido’s earlier announcement that he would temporarily suspend his music career for two months to actively campaign for his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, as he seeks re-election.
