She made the remarks in Ikere Ekiti after voting concluded at Atiba/Aafin Ward during the APC senatorial primary for Ekiti South Senatorial District on Monday.

The credibility was praised by Afuye, who described the process as peaceful, orderly, and reflective of the party’s commitment to fair competition and internal democracy.

Prominent contenders in the senatorial race include the incumbent and Senate spokesman, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, former Senate Minority Leader, Senator Biodun Olujimi, and ex-House of Representatives member Bamidele Faparusi.

Afuye commended party members for their conduct, urging all aspirants to accept the outcome with calmness and maturity.

She warned against divisive statements that could escalate tensions or disrupt peace within the state, stressing the importance of unity after competitive processes.

The Deputy Governor noted that concerns raised during the House of Representatives primaries would be reviewed by the party, assuring members that appropriate steps would be taken where necessary.

She also praised Governor Biodun Oyebanji for maintaining neutrality throughout the process and rejecting any form of influence or name-dropping by contestants.

According to her, no electoral process is perfect, but internal mechanisms exist to address grievances and ensure fairness for all participants.
