Akwa Ibom Governor, Umo Eno To Be Officially Received By APC In Grand Ceremony

President Bola Tinubu will lead a grand reception in Uyo as Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno officially defects from PDP to the All Progressives Congress.

The Akwa Ibom APC Reception is set for Saturday in Uyo, where President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to lead a grand ceremony to officially welcome Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno and other government officials into the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This announcement came from Akwa Ibom APC chieftain, Senator Ita Enang, in a statement released Friday in Uyo, the state capital.

Enang further stated that the party is fully prepared to receive the Vice President, the party’s National Chairman, and governors elected on the party’s platform.

Governor Eno had publicly announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC on June 6.

Senator Enang, a former Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly and Niger Delta Affairs, emphasized that the governor’s decision has now aligned Akwa Ibom with the political center.

He assured the governor and his supporters that the APC would welcome them with open arms and honour all agreements reached.

“As progressives, we shall work with the governor and his supporters to ensure that they fit into the party without hitches,” Enang said.

“We will have a lot of visitors coming into the state for the reception; the command is fully prepared.

We are working with other security agencies to provide adequate security,” Azare stated.
