The visit, which also included the Deputy Governor of Ogun State Salmot Badru and several party leaders, followed internal tensions that emerged after the APC consensus arrangement for the 2027 governorship race.

In a statement shared on her social media page, Iyabo Obasanjo said the engagement reflected a shared commitment to inclusiveness and the progress of the party.

She noted that discussions during the visit were frank, constructive, and forward-looking, adding that it reaffirmed a collective resolve to strengthen party structures and promote cohesion.

According to her, the interaction also served as an opportunity to align on the need for unity ahead of future elections in Ogun State.

“I remain fully committed to our party’s decision and will continue to support every effort that advances cohesion, inclusion and electoral success,” she stated.

The former senator also acknowledged other political figures who accompanied Adeola, describing their presence as a demonstration of solidarity within the party ranks.

The development comes after earlier disagreements within the party structure, including reported tensions during the emergence of the consensus candidate.

Observers say the latest engagement may signal efforts to reconcile factions within the Ogun APC ahead of the 2027 political cycle.
