Professor Oserheimen Osunbor is a distinguished Nigerian lawyer, academic, and politician.

Born on October 5, 1951, he holds a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Warwick, UK, and had a notable career as a university lecturer before venturing into politics.

His political journey began with his election as a Senator representing Edo Central Senatorial District in 1999, a position he held for two terms until 2007.

During his time in the Senate, he chaired significant committees, including those on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), earning him the nickname “Attorney-General of the Senate.”

In 2007, Osunbor was elected Governor of Edo State.

Although his tenure was brief, ending in 2008 following a court ruling that nullified his election, he remains a respected figure known for his intellectual prowess and commitment to legal due process. He later joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
