Political Analyst Sam Amadi Speaks on Wike’s Influence in PDP

Sam Amadi Wike PDP influence comments as political analyst explains Wike’s role and gravitas within PDP faction dynamics

Sam Amadi, Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, has described the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as a central force within the Peoples Democratic Party, stating that his influence goes beyond formal hierarchy.

Amadi says while analysing the recently concluded PDP national convention held in Abuja.

He argued that Wike’s role within the party is driven more by political weight and practical influence than by official designation, noting that the minister has become a key figure shaping the direction of his faction.

Amadi further compared Wike’s influence with that of former Senate President Bukola Saraki, suggesting that Saraki would ultimately defer due to differences in political gravitas and institutional capacity.

According to him, Wike remains the driving force behind the faction’s activities, with his ability to mobilise and execute decisions distinguishing him within the party structure.

He added that leadership within the faction appears to be defined less by titles and more by the capacity to influence outcomes and maintain cohesion among stakeholders.
