In an interview, Oyerinmade highlighted the significance of President Tinubu’s recent visit to the United Kingdom, noting that the engagements went beyond symbolism and delivered tangible economic outcomes.
He pointed to agreements linked to export financing for port refurbishment as evidence of practical cooperation capable of improving trade efficiency and boosting national revenue.
He explained that such developments are expected to enhance logistics, create employment opportunities, and strengthen Nigeria’s competitiveness as a regional commercial hub.
According to him, improved port infrastructure is critical to economic performance, particularly in a trade-dependent environment.
Oyerinmade also noted that the visit has reinforced Nigeria’s investment profile by strengthening bilateral relations with the United Kingdom.
He argued that sustained international engagement at the highest level signals renewed confidence in Nigeria’s economic direction and reform trajectory.
Turning to domestic policy, the APC aspirant described the Renewed Hope Agenda as a bold and reform-driven initiative aimed at addressing structural challenges in the economy.
He referenced policy decisions such as subsidy removal and foreign exchange reforms, describing them as necessary measures to restore fiscal discipline and attract investment.
He acknowledged that while the reforms may present short-term challenges, they are designed to reposition the economy for productivity, transparency, and sustainable growth.
Oyerinmade maintained that the administration’s approach reflects long-term planning rather than short-term political considerations.
On internal party matters, Oyerinmade dismissed concerns about divisions within the APC in Ondo State, describing such narratives as overstated.
He emphasised that differences in opinion are a natural part of democratic engagement and should not be mistaken for conflict.
He pointed to party leaders operating within the same structure, noting that their roles are complementary and focused on governance and development rather than rivalry.
He further stressed that established party mechanisms exist to manage disagreements and maintain cohesion.
Reflecting on his previous attempt at the senatorial ticket in 2022, Oyerinmade described the experience as a valuable learning opportunity that deepened his understanding of grassroots politics and stakeholder engagement.
He said the process helped him strengthen his political structure and broaden his support base across Ondo South.
Looking ahead, he expressed confidence in his prospects, stating that he has built wider acceptability and improved his outreach across local communities.
He noted that political success requires both strategic effort and public trust, while maintaining that ultimate outcomes are determined by broader forces beyond human control.
Oyerinmade also outlined plans to improve lives in Ondo South if elected, focusing on youth empowerment, healthcare, education, infrastructure, and economic inclusion.
His proposals include digital skills training programmes, cooperative-based support for small businesses, community healthcare initiatives for the elderly, and advocacy for infrastructural development across key sectors.
He added that accountability and regular engagement with constituents would form a core part of his representation approach, with structured town hall meetings and transparent reporting mechanisms aimed at ensuring measurable impact.
