Kano APC ultimatum NNPP demands retraction of court interference claims, warns of legal action over alleged defamation
The All Progressives Congress in Kano State has issued a 72-hour ultimatum to the New Nigeria Peoples Party and its spokesperson, Ibrahim Karaye, to retract allegations that the state government influenced court proceedings and tender a public apology.

The party warned that failure to comply within the stipulated period would result in legal action for defamation.
In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Auwalu Soja Gwale, the APC described the allegation as false, malicious and legally indefensible.
The controversy followed claims by the NNPP that the Kano State Government, led by Abba Kabir Yusuf, interfered in judicial processes, including alleged payments to influence proceedings at a Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja.
The APC firmly denied the allegations, insisting that the state government has never interfered with the judiciary and operates within the bounds of the law.
Auwalu Soja Gwale said the claims lacked credible evidence and were aimed at discrediting the judicial system.
He added that such statements reflect a pattern of what the party described as reckless rhetoric by elements within the NNPP, particularly when political outcomes do not favour them.
The APC also urged factions within the NNPP, including those linked to Boniface Aniebonam and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to focus on resolving internal disputes rather than making unsubstantiated allegations.
The party maintained that it is inappropriate for any political group facing internal challenges to accuse the judiciary of corruption without proof.

Reaffirming its commitment to the rule of law, the APC called on the public to disregard the allegations, describing them as baseless.
