Rotimi Amaechi Accuses Tinubu Government of Killing Nigerians

Rotimi Amaechi criticises President Bola Tinubu’s government, alleging failure to protect Nigerians after Maiduguri bombings

Former Minister of Transportation and ex-Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, has accused the administration of President Bola Tinubu of “killing Nigerians” by failing to protect lives and property, following Monday night’s bombing in Maiduguri, Borno State.

Amaechi made the allegations in a statement issued through his media office on Tuesday, condemning the attack and describing the Tinubu-led government as “abysmally incompetent” and lacking the basic leadership skills required to safeguard citizens.

While expressing sympathy for the victims’ families, the former Rivers State governor criticised the government’s ostentatious lifestyle amid rising insecurity, insisting Nigerians cannot continue to mourn while the authorities fail to act decisively.

“Tinubu has failed Nigerians. This government is killing Nigerians. I repeat, President Tinubu’s government is killing Nigerians, literally destroying lives. He has failed in the most sacred duty of protecting the lives of the citizens of this country,” Amaechi said.

He further described the bombings in Maiduguri as a “damning indictment of a leadership that has grown complacent, incompetent, and indifferent to the suffering and death of Nigerians at the hands of ravaging bandits.”
