Siminalayi Fubara is the current Governor of Rivers State, having assumed office in May 2023.
An accomplished accountant and technocrat, he previously served as the Accountant General of Rivers State from 2020 to 2022. His career in the Rivers State civil service spanned nearly two decades, where he rose through the ranks, demonstrating a deep understanding of public finance.
As governor, his administration has embarked on ambitious infrastructure projects, including the Port Harcourt Ring Road, and has focused on improving civil service welfare by addressing long-delayed promotions and pensions.
His tenure has, however, been marked by significant political turbulence.
