The nominations follow the resignation of Adamu Atiku, son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who stepped down from the cabinet after the governor’s defection to the All Progressives Congress.
The confirmed nominees are Sali Idris representing Maiha Local Government Area, Muhammed Suleiman from Mubi North LGA, and Chubado Mohammed of Jada LGA.
Speaker Bathiya Wesley, presiding over the session, urged the nominees to uphold credibility and deliver quality service to the people of Adamawa State.
Governor Fintiri submitted the names on Tuesday, a day after Adamu Atiku resigned as Commissioner for Works and Energy Development for refusing to switch from the Peoples Democratic Party to the APC.
Speaking to The PUNCH after his screening, Muhammed Suleiman praised the governor for the nomination and highlighted ongoing projects in the state.
“The Fintiri administration is clearly different from past governments; his projects speak directly to the people of Adamawa State,” Suleiman said.
He also noted that the governor had extended his service beyond retirement, signalling confidence in his capabilities.
