APC 31 governors claim grows as Edo Governor Monday Okpebholo says more governors will join the ruling party ahead of the 2027 elections

Monday Okpebholo made the statement on Wednesday during the official reception of political defectors in Benin City, the Edo State capital, where he praised supporters and party members for strengthening the ruling party’s structure.

The governor said the growing number of governors aligned with the APC demonstrated the party’s expanding political influence and nationwide acceptance.

“We now have 31 governors in the All Progressives Congress, and I want to tell you that more governors are still coming to join us,” Monday Okpebholo said.

The Edo State governor also expressed appreciation to Bola Ahmed Tinubu and residents of Edo State for their support of the ruling party.

Monday Okpebholo described the unity within the party as a powerful factor sustaining its momentum across the country.

“I want to also express my profound gratitude to our father, for whom we are here today, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He has been very supportive, and we promise to deliver Edo State to him in the 2027 general elections,” the governor said.

The reception event in Benin City drew party leaders, supporters and newly defected members who pledged allegiance to the APC as political activities gradually intensify ahead of the next electoral cycle.
