Atiku announced the demise on his social media page on Tuesday, February 24, revealing that he attended funeral prayers at the National Mosque to join the family and other Muslim faithful in paying their respects.

The former vice president prayed for the deceased, asking Allah to forgive his sins and grant him Jannatul Firdausi, while many of Atiku’s supporters joined in mourning and extended condolences on X (formerly Twitter).

Atiku, a presidential hopeful for the 2027 election under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has maintained close ties with his political allies and associates, including the late Babakano Jada’s family.

Supporters expressed sympathy in comments on Atiku’s post, with prayers asking for comfort for the family and blessings for the deceased.
