Speaking at the APC national secretariat in Abuja on Monday, Yilwatda revealed that a group of youths from Kogi State had paid N100 million in advance for Tinubu’s nomination form.
The payment was made during a visit by Kogi Governor Ahmed Ododo and state youths, who presented a Zenith Bank cheque for the amount.
“With this payment, I want to announce that nobody should bother to bring money to buy forms for President Tinubu again, because the form has been procured in advance,” Yilwatda said.
He commended the youths for taking initiative, describing their action as a departure from past culture where youths were often passive.
The APC chairman added that the move reflects confidence in Tinubu’s administration, citing improvements in the economy, security, and political empowerment of youths.
“The youths are not asking what the government will do for them, but what they can do to support President Tinubu,” he stated.
Governor Ododo echoed this sentiment, praising Tinubu for empowering youths and granting them significant roles in governance.
He noted that the president has provided space for young Nigerians in ways unprecedented in the country’s history.
