The governor made the remarks during a strategic meeting with the Plateau State Association, USA (PSA-USA), in Washington, D.C., United States, on Tuesday.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, Mutfwang emphasised that the state’s future depends on collective action and mutual understanding.

“Unity and mutual understanding are indispensable to building a peaceful, inclusive and prosperous Plateau State that every indigene can be proud of,” he said.

The governor lauded the diaspora for their continued support, noting that their contributions extend beyond remittances to human capital, professional expertise, and investment in sectors such as healthcare, education, technology, and peacebuilding.

He assured the delegation that inclusive engagement remains central to his vision for a united and prosperous Plateau State.

Mutfwang also addressed recent political developments, explaining that his decision to move from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress was made in the broader interest of Plateau’s stability.

The PSA-USA delegation, led by its National President, Dr. Barth Shepkong, urged policy consistency and the creation of a more investor-friendly environment in the state.

The association recommended the establishment of a Plateau State Diaspora Commission to institutionalise engagement and enhance coordination.
